This catalog explores the relationship of Salvador Dali with the performing arts, and in addition links to the commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. In 1946 Luchino Visconti premiered the stage play " Come vi piace" (As You Like It ) by William Shakespeare, at the Teatro Eliseo of Rome and to give greater visibility and impact of the show, through Coco Chanel commissioned him to Dalí the scenery and costumes, resulting in a perfomance of extraordinary beauty where dream and fantasy are the main elements. Franco Zeffirelli also worked as director of the stage show. Vittorio Gassman, Rina Morelli , Ruggero Ruggieri and a young Marcello Mastroianni were the leading actors.
