Catalogue of the “Alchimie des philosophes” exhibition (Púbol, 2009) in which fifteen pieces are shown: the ten prints that make up the Alchimie des philosophes series from 1976, two original plates engraved by Salvador Dalí , and the book-object of the same title, comprising two volumes and his engravings, as well as the drypoint tools used by the artist. Dalí was captivated by the possibilities that mass reproduction offered, an art form that brought him closer to a much larger and more diverse public. Alchimie des philosophes is a work of maturity that sums up the concerns and the career of the artist as engraver.
